Blurb from, please scroll down for my review.

The most closely Guarded treasure on Earth.

An explosive ancient secret.

A breakneck journey into the heart of the Vatican.
In a small, heavily fortified room just north of the Sistine Chapel, a master thief is about to strike. All he needs is an instant–to steal the most important treasure in the Vatican museum: two antique keys–one gold, one silver–that protect the secret of salvation….

But a surprise awaits Michael St. Pierre deep inside the Vatican, an ancient secret so explosive, it sends him running for his life—from the streets of Rome to a small stone church in Israel—with two stolen keys and a terrible realization: the consequences of his desperate, brazen act are far greater than he could ever have imagined.
For the treasure he has uncovered—the gleaming prize buried within the most clandestine structure on earth—is about to bring him face-to-face with an enemy more shocking, frightening, and insidious than anyone can guess….

My Review

Thieves of Heaven by Richard Doetsch.

How far would you go to help save you´re wife´s life? This is a question that Michael doesn´t even think about, for him there is no question, he simply does what he thinks is correct.

This is a great debut novel, published back in April of 2006, not the first book I have read from this author as they are all brilliant.

There are loads of fast paced action going on here, the backgrounds of all the main characters will get you into their lives and you will feel as if you actually know them. I am not sure if to call this fantasy or religious or supernatural apart from thriller genre it will all depend on your personal views. I found this to be a very entertaining book, I had made the mistake to read the third in the Michael StPierre series before the first I(I was unaware of the correct order at the time) and as I read this one there were certain thing cleared up for me that I hadn´t completely got in the third one. Having said that I think they can be read separately, but if you have them all, or are thinking about getting them, them read them in the correct order. Here is a link to a goodreads page with the correct order. I will post the reviews in the correct order though.

The bad things, well not really, but the part of the story line with the wife being sick and no free medical care is wrong, but I guess that is the USA for you.

I enjoyed all the characters, even though Simon was introduced a little haphazardly into the novel. To me this is a great read, fast, parts are full of action and parts are just so emotional.

I don´t want to give away the ending, you´ll just have to read it yourself.

Check out my review of the other books in the series here.
