A gripping psychological thriller from the bestselling author ofFollow You Home and The Magpies.

It was the job she had dreamed of since childhood. But on her very first day, when an unnerving encounter drags up memories Sophie Greenwood would rather forget, she wonders if she has made a mistake. A fatal mistake.

What is her ambitious young assistant really up to? And what exactly happened to Sophie’s predecessor? When her husband and daughter are pulled into the nightmare, Sophie is forced to confront the darkest secrets she has carried for years.

As her life begins to fall apart at work and at home, Sophie must race to uncover the truth about her new job…before it kills her.

My Review

I have a love hate relationship with Mark Edwards, some of his books I have loved, some not so much, but this one is one of the love ones and I also prefer his solo works. So back to the book,  a fast read, page turner thriller, so,  what is going on in the life of Sophie Greenwood? We are led to believe a whole loads of things that lead you to hating one of the characters. There are flashbacks to the past, clearly added at the right moment which gives little clues to the present. Keep reading on and her husband and young daughter are also targeted and the mystery heightens, the thrills continue to surprise and what turns out to be a dream job is starting to be a nightmare for Sophie. What happens at the end, you are just going to have to read it.
