With her career in jeopardy and desperate to conceal a disturbing secret, Kay’s hunt for the killer becomes a race against time before he claims another life.

For the killer, the game has only just begun…

Scared to Death is a gripping fast paced crime thriller from author Rachel Amphlett, in a new series introducing Kay Hunter – a detective with a hidden past and an uncertain future…

My Review

Oh this has to be the best book from Rachel so far, I have read a few of her other standalone books (Mistake Creek,  Look Closer,   Before Nightfall,  and Dan Taylor series Under Fire) and they are all rather good, but this is better, her writing has improved, matured and it is a delight to read, OK, the books are of murders, serial killers, etc, basically nasty stuff going on in the world but her she introduces a new character Detective Kay Hunter,  of course it does help I really do enjoy this genre. Detective Kay Hunter has her own problems and past at work and they are revealed bit by bit, as this is the first in a trilogy I imagine there will be more as you read the other books.  This is an intriguing book, it kept me guessing with a great ending, but it also started off with a bang, this is a very clever book, fast paced, thrilling and a great introduction to a new detective.
